Born and raised in Los Angeles, I am an award-winning author, screenwriter, illustrator and manuscript editor. Privileged with an upbringing near the California coast, as well as decades' travel and exploration across numerous national parks, underwater vistas and other wild places (including the cougar-haunted stretches in LA's very backyard) has offered me a wealth of natural inspiration in both the literary and visual arts. While I studied illustration at Otis College of Art & Design, I studied scientific illustration specifically under seasoned artist and scientist Gretchen Halpert, as part of the Scientific Illustration Distance Program.
